Key Stage 2 pupils from St John the Evangelist Catholic Primary School in Billingham enjoyed a fantastic day of creativity, exploration and artistic discovery during a visit to MIMA.

The educational visit provided children with the opportunity to immerse themselves in the world of art while learning about different artistic styles, ideas and creative processes.

Exploring Inspiring Exhibitions

Throughout the day, pupils explored a variety of exhibitions, discovering how artists use different materials, techniques and concepts to communicate their ideas.

The visit encouraged children to think critically about art and develop a greater appreciation for creativity in its many forms.

Learning About Contemporary Art

One of the highlights of the visit was learning about the artists shortlisted for this year's Turner Prize.

Pupils explored the ideas behind contemporary artworks and gained insights into how artists develop and express their creative vision.

Hands-On Creative Workshops

The children also took part in engaging workshops inspired by the artwork they had explored throughout the day.

These sessions gave pupils the opportunity to experiment with new techniques, express their own ideas and create original pieces of art inspired by their experiences.

A Day Full of Creativity and Inspiration

Staff were delighted to see the enthusiasm, curiosity and imagination shown by the pupils throughout the visit.

The experience provided a wonderful opportunity for children to learn beyond the classroom, develop their creative thinking and gain inspiration from the world of art.

St John the Evangelist Catholic Primary School would like to thank the team at MIMA for providing such an enjoyable and memorable experience for the children.
