It has been a truly magical week at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Primary School in Billingham, as our school community came together to celebrate the joy and meaning of Christmas. With festive activities, heartfelt performances, and moments of reflection, our children shone brightly throughout every event.

Festive Fun at Our EY Christmas Crafts Session

We began the week with a wonderful Early Years Christmas Crafts session, where parents were welcomed into school to get creative alongside their children. Together, they designed beautiful decorations and handmade ornaments, filling the classroom with festive sparkle and happy smiles. Events like this highlight the strong partnership between home and school - something we value deeply at St John’s.

A Heartwarming Nativity from Our Hummingbird Class

The celebrations continued as our talented Hummingbird class took to the stage for their Christmas Nativity performance. With confident voices, expressive acting, and plenty of Christmas charm, the children lit up the school hall. Families, staff, and pupils were captivated as the children retold the Nativity story with warmth and enthusiasm. Their dedication and practice truly paid off.

KS2 Christmas Carol Service at the Church

We ended the week with a beautiful KS2 Christmas Carol Service at the church. This special event brought the whole community together as our older pupils reflected on the meaning of Christmas and shared the greatest story ever told through carols, readings, and prayer. The respect, reverence, and maturity shown by our KS2 pupils made the service a deeply moving experience for everyone who attended.

A Huge Thank You to Our School Community

We want to extend a heartfelt thank you to all parents, carers, staff, parish members, and children who made this festive week so memorable. Your support, enthusiasm, and spirit help make St. John the Evangelist Catholic Primary School such a wonderful place to learn and grow.

This week’s celebrations have been a perfect reminder of the joy, love, and togetherness that Christmas brings.
