Grand Opening of St. John the Evangelist Library!
Today was the day our library was officially opened by Mrs Dodsworth (our SIO). It was attended by the librarians and representatives for each class. It was a wonderful atmosphere; children excited to look at all the beautiful books we have and reading them together with their friends.
Then throughout the day, classes visited the library to explore and enjoy some time reading. Each child has brought a book home to read for pleasure, with you, friends or on their own. These books will need to be returned by: Friday 10th May (EY and KS1) or Friday 24th May (KS2).
Moving forward, the library will be open on a Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday lunchtime. Children will be able to come in, choose a book and read or even change books. Each class will also visit the library once a week to do a variety of activities from reading for pleasure; listening to audio books or completing research.
It was wonderful to see our children using the library in the way it is intended to be used and to see many children loving reading!
